Elmoor
The Elmoor is one of the three principal wetland valleys within the Harking Hills, beside the Harkmoor and the Folkmoor. The northernmost of the three, it is located near the hillchain's north-eastern edge between the Hills of Eres, the Biltendale, and Lake Uri.
Etymology
The name likely relates to that of the Elmberg.
Geography and Ecology
It forms an extensive flat, covered in a fen of low grasses and mosses housing a variety of wildlife, particularly birds and toads. While less secluded than the other moors, the area is known for its wet and often impassable ground. Traversal is possible but requires extensive knowledge of the terrain or a local pathfinder guide. Albeit largely untouched by humans, the Elmoor sees occasional use as hunting grounds by the local population, and it is treated as common land for the pales of Desmor and Eres.
